Helen Papacostantinou is the founder of Nourishing Mana, an Australian made holistic body care brand created to help busy women regulate their nervous systems through simple, sustainable wellness habits.

After leaving a toxic corporate environment that impacted her mental health, Helen began building Nourishing Mana from the ground up, determined to create products that feel luxurious yet realistic for everyday life. Each formulation is intentionally crafted using thoughtfully selected, low PUFA oils and ethically sourced ingredients, supporting skin health without unnecessary complexity.
As a mother and founder, Helen understands how easily women lose themselves in responsibility. Through her products, education, and speaking, she encourages women to reconnect with who they are beyond their roles, not through elaborate routines, but through small daily habits that build calm, confidence, and resilience over time.
She believes that when a woman feels steady in her body, everything else flows more naturally, and that both business and life are built through consistency, not urgency.

A Sustainable Nervous System Support
I always wanted my own business, but I wasn’t sure what to do or where to start. I was working in a corporate job where the environment was toxic. It was affecting me mentally. I was working long hours, my nervous system was overloaded, and I knew I couldn’t sustain it for the sake of my own sanity.
That’s when Nourishing Mana began.
I realised busy women don’t need more motivation, they need nervous system support they can actually sustain.
As a mum and now a business owner, I experienced first hand how self care often becomes another task on the list. The elaborate routines, the pressure to “glow up,” the constant messaging that we should be doing more, it felt overwhelming. In fact, I did nothing because it was just another thing to manage.
So I know what it feels like to not have time for self care.
What I became passionate about solving is this: how do we make wellness realistic? How do we help women feel calmer and more grounded without adding complexity? How do we help mothers come back to themselves and rediscover who they are, because they are more than just a wife, mum, or employee. They are Helen. Or Jan. Or Sue.
Nourishing Mana was built around simple, achievable wellness habits. Warm baths. Nourishing body oils. A two minute reset before bed. Small shifts that compound over time.
When a woman feels calm in her body, everything flows better, her parenting, her leadership, her confidence. Her inner Mana shines through.

“How Deeply Do You Believe in What You are Building?”
The biggest challenge has been learning how to run a business, let alone an e-commerce one. It has been very much on the job learning.
But the deeper challenge has been mental resilience.
We are still in the foundation laying phase. There are days of growth and excitement, and there are “doughnut days” where no sales come through, and I think more women need to hear that.
As women, we immediately think: “What is wrong with me?” “Why don’t they like me or my product?” I had to learn early not to take it personally. It’s not about me.
Before launching, I attended a workshop where the speaker said something that has stayed with me: most businesses don’t fail because the idea was bad. They fail because the founder gives up in the first two years.
That shifted everything for me.
Momentum will fluctuate. The real question becomes: how deeply do you believe in what you are building? Are you committed when it’s quiet as much as when it’s busy?
Those quieter days aren’t evidence of failure, they are evidence of foundations being laid. Brand trust. SEO. Product refinement. Messaging clarity. These are long term assets.
Consistency builds confidence, not the other way around.
On Detaching Emotions
Detach emotion from daily results. Entrepreneurship feels personal, especially when you’re building something rooted in your own experience, but I’ve learned to approach it strategically.
A slow week doesn’t mean the vision is wrong. A quiet day doesn’t mean the product isn’t needed. It just means you haven’t found your person yet.
Comparison is another trap. Other brands may have large marketing budgets and appear to be “crushing it,” but we are all on different journeys.
One insight that surprised me is this: if I became an overnight success, I don’t think my nervous system could handle it. I’m actually grateful for gradual growth. It’s allowing me to grow into the business rather than be overwhelmed by it.
Instead of reacting emotionally, I refine systems, improving website clarity, strengthening messaging, educating women through content, and elevating the brand experience.
Growth comes from steady refinement, not dramatic pivots.

Staying Motivated During The Tough Days
I come back to impact. My children were a huge reason I started. I wanted to show them that making a career change in midlife is possible. You don’t have to stay somewhere that doesn’t light you up.
My customers are another source of motivation. When women tell me their skin is glowing, that the scents help them feel calm and balanced, that their feet are finally sandal ready and not catching on the sheets, that matters.
I also live what I teach. I use the products. I take the bath. I apply the body oil slowly. I practise the wellness habits.
It brings me back to why I started.
Building something meaningful takes time. Quick wins are exciting, but sustainable brands are built patiently.
The Next Step for Nourishing Mana
Right now, I’m focused on strengthening Nourishing Mana’s educational voice, helping women understand that self care doesn’t need to be elaborate to be effective. Small daily habits compound over time, and that builds calm.
I’m also stepping into more speaking opportunities to share openly about building a business from scratch as a mother, and the resilience required in those early stages.
Over the next 12 months, my focus is expanding visibility, deepening customer trust, and continuing to refine products that support busy women in realistic, achievable ways.
